Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Professionally, I am most proud of having worked as a clinic director, which taught me how to be a leader and improved my appreciation for good leaders. Personally, it is hiking to the summit of Angel’s Landing trail in Zion National Park during the wintertime.
Q: What type of professional growth have you experienced in the past few
years?
I remember how influential having a mentor was for me as a fresh graduate out of PT school. In recent years I’ve been honored to take on that mentor role for younger physical therapists.
Q: What is your favorite part of being a physical therapist?
I love getting to meet and work with people from all walks of life. I always learn something new from my patients whether it be a new food recommendation, house repair tips, or words in different languages.
Q: What are your passions within the field of physical therapy?
Getting people healthy and working with patients to achieve their goals through creative plans of care. An example of this is in my previous role, I worked with a population dealing with multiple comorbidities while facing barriers to access to traditional treatment options. Coming up with novel solutions that met their needs given the limitations to access allowed me to get more creative in their treatment plans.
Q: Where is your favorite place to visit?
My parent’s house. My husband and I enjoy spending time with them playing Mahjong.
Q: What is your favorite pastime?
Doing crafts and practicing yoga. Currently I enjoy making greeting cards for special occasions.
Q: What was your most memorable job before working at Bethesda Physiocare?
My most memorable job was a travel PT on the island of Moloka’i in Hawaii. I got to travel to all the other islands of Hawaii during that time, eat great food, and learn more about Hawaiian culture.
